
On Friday 11/22 Stone hosted the annual Turkey Trot. There were 3 inflatable costume races and participant and place medals. The proceeds went towards providing holiday meals for SMMS families in need. This event was hosted by Lego Robotics and PTO. Our sponsors and family donations allowed us to reach out to over 32 families!



The Lego Robotics Team competed 12.8.24 in the Lego First Robotics qualifiers. Students problem solved exploring the artic and worked on coding solutions for the Submerged theme. They were given an Alternate bid to championships at Sea World on Jan 10th and 11th. Congratulations for an awesome season! Science research students in Dr. Alexander's classes had the opportunity to see first-hand the solid waste disposal processes of Brevard Cunty Waste Management. Students explored the Cocoa facilities with a narrated tour across the facilities as they discussed various disposal options, materials, and the engineering challenges of planning for future waste. Students also learned about the efforts of making the facility self-sustaining through solar panels, and other intentionally engineered practices.

Stone's Winter Band and Orchestra Concert will be on Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00pm in the Stone Gym.


For our Stone families to plan the last week before winter break, here is our Winter Exam Schedule. Please note, this is the most updated schedule as of 12/13/24. There were changes to the December 17 times.


The Stone PTO will be selling Candy Grams during all lunches December 9-13. The cost is $3 each or two for $5. Grams will be delivered on December 18.


Congratulations to Amalia Krell for being chosen as Stone's Custodian of the Month for November! Ms. Krell was chosen for going above and beyond, going the extra mile with out prompting and having a positive attitude!


Stone's student services office of Ms. Carroll and Ms. Lopez grow mango pods in the office. The pods have officially matured enough to be planted. Here’s a pic of some volunteers with one of our newly potted mangroves. They potted up all of them, and they are in the nursery at the Marine Resources Council awaiting their shoreline planting.



On Thursday, December 5th, Miss Aiken’s 4th period class had the opportunity to participate in a scholar exchange with the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on the topic of amending the Constitution.

Stone will have it's annual STEAM Night on Thursday, December 12 from 6-8pm. All Stone families and elementary student families who are interested in learning more about Stone are welcome to attend! Worried about dinner? Don't! We will be providing all of those who attend with a slice of pizza, a chip and a drink. There will also be additional food concessions and Kona Ice available for purchase (cash only). Please see attached flyer for additional details.

Students in Mr. Putnam's civics class had the special opportunity to visit the Liberty Bell museum in Melbourne on Wednesday. If you have never been, you definitely should experience this hidden gem. It holds a Liberty Bell that was made with the original mold from the original liberty bell. There are many historical artifacts that are worth perusing!

Dr. Alexander's critical and creative thinking class has been exploring an engineering and design unit focused on drones. Students completed their TRUST certifications and were able to view a law enforcement drone in action.
